Omar Badreddin badreddin%2c-omar

Dr. Badreddin works in the area of Model Driven Engineering and Healthcare Analytics. He is the head of the “Model Drive Healthcare Analytics (MD-HA) research lab”. The lab focuses on applying cutting edge technologies to solve some of the healthcare challenges, such as patient flow, delivering time critical care, clinical pathway management and high performance high efficiency care. Dr. badreddin is actively involved in collaborative projects with a few hospitals in North America. He is an IBM Research Fellow and is the author of “Human-Centric Business Process Management”.

John Georgas is Associate Director, Informatics and Computing Assistant Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He holds the Ph.D and M.S. degrees from the Department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine. He also holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

John’s research interests include self-adaptive software systems, software architecture, domain-specific architectures, social aspects of software engineering, component-based systems, architectural styles, architectural description languages, and systems-of-systems modeling. His doctoral work focused on supporting self-adaptive software using an architecture- and policy-based approach with an emphasis on the robotics domain.

Relentless pursue of removal of waste in healthcare processes. Started “Kaizen thinking” and driving lean daily management across the organization implementing 325 suggestions in FY’13. 
So far in FY’14 a total of 1200 implemented suggestions. Started NAH’s Center of Process Excellence department which now has 2 lean coordinators and 3 fellows.

Certified Black Belt lean sigma – pursuing Master BB through Progressive consulting.

Dr. Peyton is a professor at University of Ottawa. His areas of interest includes model-driven data integration to support business processes and performance management, service oriented architectures, B2B networks, complex event processing, decision support, quality assurance and privacy especially as applied to healthcare.

Dr. Maged Elaasar is a senior Software Engineer at JPL, NASA. During his 17-year career in the software industry, Maged has consulted  a number of companies around the world. He has become a known leader in the field of applied software engineering; in particular model-driven engineering, where he holds several patents. Maged has also managed development teams and technically lead several software products that are in widespread use today. In addition, he has been a leader of and an active contributor to open-source projects at Eclipse and open-standards at OMG for many years. Furthermore, Maged has taught a number of unversity and corporate courses to classes of various sizes and backgrounds throughout his career. Maged has received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University in 2012, his Master of Computer Science from Carleton University in 2003, and his Bachelor of Computer Science from the American University in Cairo in 1996. Finally, Maged has been actively engaged in academic and industrial research, and has published in top-tier refereed conferences and journals.
